Hi All,

The Issue of a ADSM newsgroup was discussed at length a few weeks ago, and
the
overwhelming option of the group was not to place ADSM on a Newsgroup,
mostly because of the SPAM that will be generated to our work email
accounts. Like most companies we have programs that monitor the mail that
is sent into our email accounts.
When you post to a newsgroup the spamers have programs that will strip off
your
email address and then start sending junk mail. If you think 50 messages a
day from the ADSM-L list is bad just wait till your on a dozen or so spam
junk mail lists.

If the volume of mail is to much you can subscribe to the Digest version of
the list, and once a day one email will be sent to you with the contents of
yesterday traffic. To get the
digest send a request to:

LISTSERV AT VM.MARIST DOT EDU
Set ADSM-L DIGests

A second option is to Read the ADSM-L on the Marist web page. (Thanks
Martha) Marist keep an online archive of the ADSM-L traffic and looking at
it similar to reading it in a newsgroup.
The Marist ADSM-L web page is at:

Dear colleagues,

As far as I could grasp there is no newsgroup for adsm discussion. This
mailing list of course is doing a good job of compensation of the newsgroup
absense. But I personally find it a little bit inconvenient moving 50
messages a day into trash. Judging on the size of the mailing list (1332
persons) I believe we can register a newsgroup.

What do you think?
