I read this from the NV 7.1 Release Notes:

Due to changes to Inventory 4.0, there is an incompatibility between the
TIPN NetView/Inventory Integration adapter or profile and the Tivoli
Management Framework 3.71/Inventory 4.0 environment. This is a
permanent restriction.

Not sure what this means for you.  I am just starting my investigation of
integrating Inventory and NetView.

I checked the mailing list archive and somebody mentioned the existence of
a patch 6.2-NVW-0001E which allows integration with Inventory 4.0 and NV7.1
in Framework 3.7.1.

I wondered if somebody has actually implemented this patch.

      does anyone have any experience on integrating Netview 7.1 with
      Tivoli Inventory (3.6.2 or 4.0) on Framework 3.7?

      What we would like is to store data like
      brand
      model
      description
      serial number
      ...
      of our network equipment in the Inventory database.

      I have heard of Tivoli Manager for Network Hardware which looks ok
      for this (it is also described in the NV 6.0 redbook) but this was
      for Framework 3.6 and NV6.0. Furthermore, the last version of TMNH
      that I know is 2.2 which was released 2 years ago!
