James,
so it is possible to set the slot value to a variable binding? Is that a
correct
statement? If yes, then how do you do that? Within the event customization
screen
where you can select slots to add, I put something similar to the following:
BPVManaged=$2
Thinking it would grab the host name and auto populate the slot BPVManaged, no
such
luck. It just put the "$2" literally. Do you have to escape the $ out?
Thanks!

have to use a
ruleset to issue a new trap which contains the information you want
and send
that one to TEC instead of the first.

Subject: [NV-L] Event values
Greetings. I need the ability to change a TEC slot value within
a
NetView event. For example. I have defined an event within
NetView and
set two slot values to be used with the event. When I issue an
snmptrap
command, is there a way to change what the contents of these slot values
are? It appears that you have to pre-set these values.
Any ideas?
