Well, I spoke too soon. While adding KeepAliveTime seemed to help it didn't
cure the problem completely. Back to EMC support now I guess.

An excellent discovery. Looks like the settings are for BOTH server/storage
nodes and clients, so I will make those changes and reboot and see how it goes.
Glad it seems to be helping you, so I have hope for us as well.

I think I may have got the final piece to our puzzle yesterday. In "Live Chat"
with and EMC rep they had me set a TCP/IP parameter on the NetWorker Server and
it appears to have helped.
This is from esg91994 on Powerlink.
Using Regedit I created the following parameter:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\Tcpip\Parameters\KeepAliveTime
And set the value to 3,360,000 (without the commas).
After doing that I was able to successfully get a full backup of our Exchange
Server for the first time since the upgrade.
Then last night I started a full backup on our big file servers. Unfortunately
the guy who installed the OS on our new server didn't turn off automatic
updates so at 3:00 AM this morning the system did a reboot to finish installing
the updates killing the backup that was running. That situation won't happen
again.
So maybe that fixed our problems with backup hangs but I'll have to wait
another day to know for sure.
