I don't think it's likely that you'll be able to run mminfo and get that
information until you've scanned a majority of the tapes, but I could be
wrong.

OK ... so when "scanner -m" finishes, will it prompt me for another tape?
Or do I just keep doing "scanner -m" on each tape, until I run out of
tapes?

If there were savesets that were in progress when end of tape was reached,
then you'll be prompted for the next tape.

I'll also remember to write-protect the tape (physically). :-) (well, they
are already have the read-only tab pushed over)

I guess I've just been lucky, but in 12+ years with NetWorker, I've never
had any kind of accident involving overwriting a tape when doing a scanner
or recover.  Our tapes are located inside a jukebox in a remote data
center, so it would be a giant PITA if I had to write-protect tapes before
doing any kind of scan or recover.
