The easiest way to change the drives characteristics is to use the
jbedit command to delete the drive(s) and the add them back with the new
drive type.
As you are supposed to do that for all drives in your jukebox I doubt
that the jbedit procedure will be faster and safer than deleting the
jukebox and its drives and then reconfiguring them with the jbconfig
command.

Sorry but it not thinking a tape is loaded, you have to delete the
coresponding loaded volume slot - then if i remember correctly it will
repeat the complaint for loaded slots and possibly loaded barcodes and
also possibly the number of devices and drives.
