I have question about file retention.  I noticed that even though I have setup my monthly backups for 1 yr volume retention, the list of files associated with the job(s) are deleted after 60 days.  While I can still perform a FULL RESTORE (I assume), 99% of the time it is a file or database that needs restored and not the whole client backup.  So, my question is, should I set my VOLUME=JOB=FILE retention to 1 year so that all the jobs and files associated with the volume are still in the catalog?  Thanks for any advice or insight.
