Thanks. Come to think about it, I tried snapshots a long time ago, and 
they seemed to be broken with my Linux distro. Now that it's a couple 
years later, it's probably fixed, so I might indeed try that.

It would still only allow a server-level restore - any idea on how to 
allow mailbox-level (or, even better, folder-level or message-level) 
restore?
