All, good morning:

I love this error:

  03-Sep 09:38 fantastic-sd JobId 46174: Invalid slot=0 defined in
catalog for Volume "daily6" on "Ultrium" (/dev/nsa0). Manual load may
  be required.

Slot 0 invalid -- although "update" in bconsole(8) had no objection to
me assigning it to a volume. No constraints or triggers in the database
schema, and no in-code checking.

So I guess Bacula wants to count slots "from 1", but count drives "from
0" ?

I wouldn't try to convince anyone of the error in their ways here --
except to point out that the SCSI specifications, the kernel data
structures, and mtx(8) and chio(8) all count from 0.

Also, so does everything else in every POSIX environment since the
1970s. Even the in GNU/Linux.

Yes, the physical lables on autochanger slots (and to some extent, the
micro-firmware embedded in the LCD displays) counts from 1, but that's
for all those MCSEs who got a degree in Psychology and realized that you
can only do two things a psychology degree: Serve coffee or teach
psychology.

Anyway, I guess its too late in the development cycle to take the more
pragmatic approach here.

Regardless, if "slot 0" in the media record had some special value ('not
in drive', etc.), that would be nice -- but we've got boolean flags for
that.

Bug? Thoughts? Creme and sugar anyone?
