With btape probably nothing (unless, perhaps, ARCserve uses IBM/ANSI
tape labels, in which case you might get the tape label printed). I
doubt that, though.

I'd try to dd the first file of the tape and pipe it through hexdump
or od. You might see some clear-text data, and perhaps playing with
different encoding (like EBCDIC) and byte-orders reveals a bit more.

No, not really... there are ANSI tape labels defined, but those are
not used by all backup systems. You mainly find them in mainframe/host
environments.
All the software I know uses proprietary tape formats, though
sometimes, behind the scenes, tar or dump is used.
