Dan,

Thanks for the quick reply - I have had a closer look and there is indeed an error before hand (I should have paid more attention to this, sorry):

02-Jun 23:53 backup-sd JobId 66: Volume "ProdBackup" previously written, moving to end of data.
02-Jun 23:53 backup-sd JobId 66: Error: Bacula cannot write on disk Volume "ProdBackup" because: The sizes do not match! Volume=20398787447 Catalog=19398851448

However, I have no idea why it would be reporting that.  The last job that touched this Volume prior to this backup was the restore I ran for which the messages reported:

but other than that, this machine is not used by anyone and why the file size would arbitrarily change is a mystery to me. All the old bacula emails I received indicated success with no warnings that I could see.

Cheers,
David

This is the problem.  What was before this?  Why was it marked in error?

A volume in error cannot be appended to.  This is the problem.

This is what you need to understand.  Appendable volumes.

Translation: Can't find an appendable volume, please give me a new one.

The system does not think the label has changed.  There are no
appendable volumes.

You can use the 'update volume' command to change volume status, but
don't do that until you answer the above questions.
