During install you are supposed to check the 'set up networking' box
where you can set the options. For a wired server you might want to
just turn of NetworkManager and be sure you have the right things in
the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth? file.

Backuppc is in the EPEL repository. You are likely to want other
things from there too.
