Nope, those are precisely the right thoughts.  What Paul's looking for
is to make sure that you could build a tool to get the status you're
looking for from the XML his tool provides.  We recognize that we'll
never have a report format that suits everyone's needs (the current
amreport is the best we've got), so this XML output is intended to
enable per-site customized post-processing by your own tools.

In particular, it sounds like you're interested in being able to
"merge" multiple reports into one larger report is important to you.
Do you think that the format Paul has shown would allow that, or are
there changes you'd like to see to make merging easier?
