amrecover: error while loading shared libraries: libamclient-2.6.0p1.so:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

and the only files I have on my box are the p2.so files - so do I need to
recompile, reuse, something?

I checked the Ubuntu-Edgy 32bit client and server packages.
ldd on amrecover showed:
       libamclient-2.6.0p2.so => not found
       libamanda-2.6.0p2.so => not found

Amrecover is linked to the correct files. They aren't found because amanda is not actually installed on the system I'm using to investigate.

Which specific package did you install (Hardy/Edgy 32/64 client/server)? I'll check the specific package you used. If we find a problem with the package, I'll check the rest of them as well.

Is this an upgrade from p1 to p2?

Dan
