I think tapelist sequence is the last thing considered when
selecting the next tape to be used. Only those used earlier
or equal to tapecycle runs ago are considered.
So yes, date does matter.
Be aware that if you overwrite a tape out of sequence,
the dumps of each DLE higher in level and newer lose a
lot of their backup value.
