I guess you are ahead of yourself running amdump.  
There are at least some issues that amcheck would find
and should be resolved before attempting amdump.

Typically you do NOT want to backup "localhost",
use dns recognized names.

You don't want (can't have) a tapecycle < runspercycle.
Typically tapecycle is multiples of runspercycle.

Get a clean amcheck and try again.

Get a dirty amcheck, check back with us about your conf file.
