 Hello,
We are using Amanda 2.5.0p2 to backup data to a PowerVault 136T with 2 LTO2 drives. We are running this on OpenBSD 3.9 and we are using CHG-CHIO
as the changer. It works fine without barcode reader support. However
we recently implemented barcode reader support in the OS and now we are
attempting to modify the changer script to use that support so that
the external tape labels are read to locate the required tape.
The changer successfully reports to Amanda that it is 'searchable' but
some commands are not responding to it like the tapechanger documentation
indicates it will.
    These commands respond appropriately:
amtape config update (will execute 'tpchanger -label')
amtape config label "labelstr" (will execute 'tpchanger -search')
The following commands DO NOT respond. The documentation indicates they
should respond.
amtape config taper (does not try 'tpchanger -search')
amcheck config (does not try 'tpchanger -search')
amlabel config "labelstr" slot # (does not try 'tpchanger -label') It seems that even though 'searchable' is set to 1, 'searchlabel' is not
being set to 1 within Amanda. Can anyone suggest what we may be missing
or overlookinging in our attempts? Or is this a bug in the Amanda code?
Thank-you in advance for any suggestions or advice.
