Hello list,

I'm not sure if this is the right location to ask for help but I must have a mistake somewhere and not able to get amanda running.

Remark: there is only one disk. So the "all estimate failed" message
that is triggered (because all of rest Amanda is supposed to do will fail now too), is not as bad as it sounds. We just have to find the
reason why this /home/test fails to estimate.

Seconds remark: Did "amcheck" pass all tests? The error messages
by amcheck are much clearer and to the point.

I'm unable to get over this "all estimate failed" and I was even unable to find any explanation on amanda.org about this error.

The according part in the amdump.1 file is:

I am wondering why there are negative results in this "estimate" process.

Seems to me like the client tried to estimate and failed completely.
E.g. you specified program DUMP (or omit the "program" parameter
from the dumptype which then defaults to DUMP), but there is suitable
dump program on the client. Amcheck would have told that.
