Your DLE's that are "too big" will never be backed up.  They need to be split 
into
smaller, multiple DLE's (don't ask, read first) or you need larger tapes.

Actually, that's not quite right. Your total dumps were too big this time, because of all the delayed backups due to your problems. That's why amanda scheduled an incremental dump for DLE's that otherwise would have gotten a full; they'll probably get a full tomorrow, space permitting.

DLEs that are too big for a tape in themselves, get a message along the lines of `dump larger than tape', I recall.

Since you seem to have 30GB tapes, splitting up those dumps above 3GB might be a good idea anyway, of course. (Think optimisation of tape usage, and restore speed.)
