I'm afraid that the results of the spanning patch by John
Stange (Hi John) are a bit less than optimum in some regards.
1: The printed reports as to whats on which tape are at quite
large odds with the results of doing a directory on that vtape.
The two hosts are coyote and gene, gene being my firewall, and
coyote this box.
On vtape Dailys-21 from the printout:

Note that there is nominally 817 megabytes of /amanda from coyote
and this is the file that was actually spanned to the next tape
but which is not included in the printout. It is listed as the
top item on the subsequent Dailys-22 printout page with its total
size of 1350310K, which compressed to 8180880K.
2: Where formerly the emailed report from amverify reported in
full format, listing all the files it verified, now it does not.
A very limited form of the report is sent instead:

So, based on those results, I'm going to nuke that dir,
unpack and config/make/install it again without those patches.
That said John, it does look as if it would be useable for some
who cannot, for various reasons, break their disklist entries
up into amanda compatible sized pieces such as I've already done
here. In fact, I'd say it was very good for a test release. :)
I'd also say that my exclude file for /dlds-misc is not working,
so that bears a closer look, I believe its includeing the subdirs
that contain the 9 iso images of the FC3 release from the size
of it above.
