I use the following:

Server:
allow udp 10080 and tcp 10082,10083 from subnet
ip_conntrack_amanda

Client
allow udp 10080 from server
ip_conntrack_amanda

You can do things withouth ip_conntrack_amanda by compiling with
--with-tcpportrange and --with-udp-portrange, then opening those holes, but
that is more work :-)
