Since you are using hardware compression, the tape length given in the
tapetype is just an estimate anyway.  It helps amandas scheduler to plan
its flushes, but in the end she'll always try another block until she
hits EOT.  That's when you hope the DLE she taped was small and not
direct-to-tape, because the aborted attempt means wasted time and space
anyway.  A good tape length estimate will help the scheduler; but if you
use hardware compression, it will depend on your data.
