Looks like this could be the problem.

I just checked the file and the last modification time on /etc/amandates was 
Mar 25, 2002.  The file is owned by the Amanda user/group and permissions 
look okay, but apparently it is not being updated by the nightly runs.

The entries for /home look like this:

/home 0 1016781860
/home 1 1016956610
/home 2 1017045569
/home 3 1016093354
/home 4 1010735700

I bet this was left over from an older version.  I'm going to delete and 
recreate the file and monitor things over the next couple of days.
