Yes I am using tar version 1.13.25.

Slackware does not install dump by default.

Perhaps your dumpdates file is not being updated, or is being clobbered
by something else to make Amanda think it's all new.

??  You must be using tar, then, and not dump.  Dump should just plain
barf when it sees ReiserFS.
