Hi
Thanks for that, the changer obviously got upset when it was powered off/on
with a tape in the drive!
Just went to it, got it to unload the tape, and now I get a happier response
:-
bash-2.03$ chg-zd-mtx -info
1 9 1
Thanks also to Uwe, very re-assuring to know that I'm not the only one to
hit this problem, I'm not hacking anything at this stage, as the error has
gone - however I reserve judgement until I get the first backups and
restores done successfully :)
Cheers
Nige

This is a message from your mtx command and tape library.
I see nowhere in the chg-zd-mtx code where this is an anticipated message.
It is expecting something like "Slot empty", or "Storage Element 9 Loaded".
chg-zd-mtx depends on the changer and mtx telling it what is loaded.
If your changer doesn't know what tape is loaded, chg-zd-mtx can't either.
Maybe it needs power cycling or reloading or some such?

Why disable autoclean and yet leave an unavailable slot for tapes?
How about lastslot = 10 and cleanslot = -1 ?
