backing up multi-boot system

Just a withful thinking question.

I have a multi-boot laptop, Solaris, Linux, and w2k.

Individually I can backup systems running any of these OS's,
but how can I handle a system that might be currently booted
in any one?  If nothing else, the disklists are different.

Anyone played with this type of situation?
