here are more details on my setup:
Amanda server is running on RedHat linux 7.2 without problems.
I'm currently using it to backup about 10 linux clients and 4 winNT
clients. I'm using a Adic Fastor 7 tape changer. Everything works fine.
amcheck comes back ok on the configuration with the SCO server.
'amcheck -c [config]'

Client check: 1 host checked in 0.730 seconds, 0 problems found

When I run am dump I can 'ps -ef | grep tar' and see a tar process running.

--create --file /dev/null --directory /u3 --one-file-system

Then shortly I get the email below.

backup this machine only? If so, the problem could be that you need to
configure amanda-server on this machine also. What are the results of your
AMCHECK run? That may help to debug the problem.
