I know vmware backups are agentless and snapshots based. What about Database, like Oracle or MS-SQL, are they also agentless and SnapShots based backups?

If you could please provide links for docs?

Thank you!

Hello,

You can check the Installation and User's guide for version 10.1.7 for example. Find the link below:

Check the pages of the inventory:
For Oracle you can check from page 578.
For SQL you can check page from page 589.

  • In both cases it has a reference you can check in case you want to apply snapshot backups.

  • As for being fully agentless i can't conclude to an answer as it indicates at some points that "the SPP agent mounts the share" and i got a bit confused.

Senior members correct me if i'm wrong because i'm still learning this :)
Good luck with this, i have to apply the MS-SQL part for a customer soon so i'll get back if i have more info.

Read through "backing up Oracle data", but still could not fully understand how could it be backed up by snapshots. I was hoping an clear or easy explanations.. Thanks!
