[Networker] nsrjb -R not recycling volume in 7.4.3?
2008-11-12 15:44:55
I upgraded from 7.4.1 to 7.4.3 on one of my systems (CentOS 5.2 64-bit).
Since doing so, when I try and put new tapes in the library and
relabeling them, it refuses to do so on the first try. These tapes are
previously used but expired. When placed in the library, the library
auto-inventories and then I can see the barcode in nsrjb, although the
volume name is listed as "-*" (this pretty much appears to be normal for
this library, and has not presented any issues in prior versions).
When I relabel the names with the "-L -Y -R" options, which always
worked for me previously, it now fails with:
Info: Loading volume `-' from slot `2' into device `/dev/nst0'.
Info: Operation `Verify label' in progress on device `/dev/nst0'
Info: Operation `Eject' in progress on device `/dev/nst0'
Error: Expected volume `-' in slot `2'. The actual volume is `000104L3'.
Info: Unloading volume `000104L3' from device `/dev/nst0' to slot 2.
Error: Expected volume `-' in slot `2'. The actual volume is `000104L3'.
39077:nsrjb: error, Jukebox command terminated with errors.
At that point, the volume name now shows up (but the volume is still
full and marked recyclable), and I have to reissue the same command to
actually recycle the tape...
I didn't see any new option to use with nsrjb to skip the extra
step...has anyone else seen this problem?
