It can be two issues. It might be that the networker server fragments
packets excessively. You need to check the MTU. Unless you are on a network
which supports jumbo frames, the MTU should be 1500.

The second problem is NetWorker specific. Legato refuses to change the TCP
buffer size. That means that NetWorker transmits data slower than
neccessary.

Large TCP buffers means that more data is transmitted before an
acknowledgement is required. GigE is usually most happy with a TCP window
(buffer size) of around 60KB. NetWorker on NetWare uses up to 12KB. That is
the largest I've seen. Usually it is around 6KB.

Your greatest problem will be to get Legato to understand that they need to
change the buffer size. This is going to cause you a lot of grief because
Legato is either not listening or the simply do not understand the problem.

Expect to be stonewalled.
