We are having issues with doing full backups on our Filer. We have a
library with 2 SDLT drives, an F820 Filer, and a Windows 2000 SP2 Networker
server backing it up via NDMP.
2 weeks ago we discovered that our Filer was rebooting spontaneously.
Netapp advised us that this was a bug in the Data ONTAP version we were
using (6.3)which caused the filer to reboot once a certain number of CIFS
connections were established. Their solution was to upgrade to ONTAP 6.4,
now we have two issues; Now we can no longer do Level full backups of the
filer, although level 1 works fine. Legato will no support us as this
release of ONTAP is not "certified with Networker 6.2"
I have a case open with both vendors, but I am wondering if anyone has any
ideas?
