If you "query restore" on the TSM server you should see restartable restores 
listed, they will have a negative session number.  You can then use the "cancel 
restore <session#>" to cancel the job.

      This is a Linux environment. I am learning as I go how to move around
in there.
      Can you tell me how I can track down where this pending restartable
restore session is? In the windows gui is easy to get rid of pending
restore but not sure how to get rid of that on Linux.
