Hello Len,
Thanks for the pointer. Now I found the session, I would like to
cancel it . I am inside the node where the restartable pending restore
session is. I tried to cancel the session but it says my syntax is
incorrect. Where did I goofed? Thanks.

Hello Avy,

You can use the query restore command.

Also you should be able to set up the windows admin gui for an Linux TSM
server, unless they have changed something that I missed.

len

-------------help query restore -------------
tsm: ADSMNT04>help query restore
QUERY RESTORE

QUERY RESTORE (Query Restartable Restore Sessions)

Use this command to display information about the restartable restore
sessions.

Privilege Class

Any administrator can issue this command.

Syntax

>>-Query--RESTore--+-----------+--+-----------------+----------->
                   '-node_name-' '-file_space_name-'

   .-Format--=--Standard-----. .-NAMEType--=--SERVER------.
>--+-------------------------+--+--------------------------+---><
   '-Format--=--+-Standard-+-' '-NAMEType--=--+-SERVER--+-'
                '-Detailed-' +-UNIcode-+
                                               '-FSID----'

more... (<ENTER> to continue, 'C' to cancel)

Parameters

node_name
Specifies the client node to be queried. This parameter is optional.
If
you do not specify a value, all client nodes with restartable restore
sessions are displayed. You must specify a value for this parameter if
you specify a file space name.
file_space_name
Specifies the file space to be queried. This parameter is optional. If
you do not specify a value, all file spaces are matched for the
     specified node.

For a server that has clients with support for Unicode, you may need
to
have the server convert the file space name that you enter. For
example, you may need to have the server convert the name you enter
from the server's code page to Unicode. See the NAMETYPE parameter for
     details.
Format
Specifies how the information is displayed. This parameter is
optional.
The default value is STANDARD. Possible values are:
     Standard
Specifies that partial information is displayed.
more... (<ENTER> to continue, 'C' to cancel)

Subject: [ADSM-L] cancel a pending restartable restore session

hello,

This is a Linux environment. I am learning as I go how to move around
in there.
Can you tell me how I can track down where this pending restartable
restore session is? In the windows gui is easy to get rid of pending
restore but not sure how to get rid of that on Linux.

dsmerror.log
07/11/2007 01:09:53 ANS1330S This node currently has a pending restartable
restore session.

The requested operation cannot complete until this session either
completes or is canceled.

07/11/2007 01:09:53 ANS1512E Scheduled event '0100_EAS' failed. Return
code = 12.

Thanks for your help
