Re: Backup of 300 GB Data within 12 Hours

Sascha,
We have an Informix database on a production server that can backup a 860GB
DB in just under 10 hours. The setup for this is:
Network: Gigabit network card on production, gigabit card on TSM server and
a direct connection between the two.
Tape Drives: SAN attached 3590 E1-A tape drives. The client can not see
these drives, but they are SAN attached to the TSM server.
We have 4 tape drives, so when we run a backup, we backup directly to all 4
tape drives. So we have 4 backup sessions running concurrently.
If you have any questions about the setup, just let me know.
Regards,
Sean
