You are right, run a scheduler on each client.
See the client manual.
In NT, for instance, the Scheduler is a service. On Unix, it is a daemon,
and so on ...

Subject: scheduler program on clients
Date: Sun, 3 Oct 1999 04:40:47 GMT
I guess I need to run scheduler program such as "dsmc sched" on every
client
in order to be able to automate my
backup. Please let me know if I'm wrong. Also I need your help on how to
run these program on different platform.
I have AIX, NT, HP and AS/400 clients. Server is on AIX/rs6000.
To my knowledge on AIX client we have to run "dsmc sched &" . Please let
me know whether I'm right and also if
possible let me know what commands I have to run on other clients such as
NT,HP, AS/400.
Thanks,
Maporce
