I did it from Tru64 unix to Sun Solaris without problems :

Just ran a "savergp -O -l full <group>" from the source

moved the tape with the bootstrap to the target system,
ran a mmrecov using bootstrap info and then a "nsrck -l 7"
to recover the Client file indexes.

I haven't met any problems at all. When done, you have to adapt 
the config of the tape drives attached to your new target system.
