Hi Jerome,

Problem(s) solved!

This is an old established network that has had many OS's and modifications
From VMS to Unix to Windows (Workgroups to Server 2008).

The older windows servers were upgraded in most cases and many legacy
components were never uninstalled. WINS was a major culprit, as it would create
"Domain" entries in the DNS files essentially giving the same system two FQDN's.

I cleaned that up and opened up MySql so it would allow remote connections. I
tried to run a backup but it failed because I didn't restart the daemons. Once
I realized it was using the wrong configuration info and restarted everything
it worked.

Thanks to all that assisted,

Bill
