Hi,
I am still stumbling through trying to get a file off an old tape.

It's file and job details were purged from the catalogue

It appears the volume retention set on the pool has no bearing on the
default file and volume retentions on the client, which are assumed
even if not specified.

I used bscan to restore the whole tape. It recreated a number of
jobids, and the one I'm interested in is:

*llist jobid=7445
           JobId: 7,445
             Job: Livetest.2010-02-07_23.05.00_30
            Name: Livetest
     PurgedFiles: 0
            Type: B
           Level: F
        ClientId: 2
            Name: livetest-fd
       JobStatus: T
       SchedTime: 2010-02-07 23:17:36
       StartTime: 2010-02-07 23:17:36
         EndTime: 2010-02-08 04:27:42
     RealEndTime: 2010-02-08 04:27:42
        JobTDate: 1,265,603,262
    VolSessionId: 385
  VolSessionTime: 1,262,869,490
        JobFiles: 7,952,965
       JobErrors: 0
 JobMissingFiles: 0
          PoolId: 2
        PooLname: Scratch
      PriorJobId: 0
       FileSetId: 30
         FileSet: Livetest Fileset

I don't know why it's showing a pooLname of Scratch here, as it was a
volume from the Monthly-Tape-Pool, or if that matters.

When i try doing a restore, and choosing option 3 and specifying jobid
7445 it says there are no files:

Enter JobId(s), comma separated, to restore: 7445
You have selected the following JobId: 7445

Building directory tree for JobId(s) 7445 ...

For one or more of the JobIds selected, no files were found,
so file selection is not possible.
Most likely your retention policy pruned the files.

Do you want to restore all the files? (yes|no):

The only sign of a problem was the final output of bscan as follows:

bscan: bscan.c:689 23,855,104 file records. At file:blk=1,395:1,495

When i run query, and choose option 12 , List Files for a selected
JobId, it just reports "No results to list"

12: List Files for a selected JobId
13: List Jobs stored on a selected MediaId
14: List Jobs stored for a given Volume name
15: List Volumes Bacula thinks are in changer
16: List Volumes likely to need replacement from age or errors
Choose a query (1-16): 12
Enter JobId: 7445
No results to list.

Can anyone explain how i might get to be able to restore, or even view
the files from that jobid 7445?

I am using bacula 3.0.2 on Ubuntu 9.04

Thank you.
Dermot
