It looks like I'm getting it now everytime. I started a new fullbackup 2
days ago and now tried to restore from it...

To rule at least the USB controller out I'll attach the disk now to the
internal usb 1.0  controller and start a full backup again (even if this
will take nearly a day to complete :(
