Mainly Recycling. If you want recycling to work correctly you will
need at least 2 volumes for every client. Remember a volume is always
recycled in its entirety.  For tapes this becomes very inefficient in
terms of tape utilization and user interaction. For disk there should
not be a problem with doing this.

Then if you try to solve this and limit the backup to only 1 volume
per client you open up a large can of worms. Recycling with only 1
volume you will have no valid backups for the client being backed up
just after the recycle occurs. Automatic pruning does not work well
because the last update to the volume is usually the last backup. What
happens if the current backup will not fit on the rest of the tape?
