I'm seeing something sort of wierd on my backup machine. I have a host
set up for the backup machine itself. I have set $Conf{BackupsDisable}
= '1'; so that it does not back up regularly, and also does not
(obviously) try to back up the pool.

I run a backup of it every 30 - 60 days, which is about the same
interval as I do an aptitude upgrade. (This is a Debian/sid box).
Well, I have been trying to run the backup, and it is failing, though
failing silently. The size of the full backup is 0.70GB, which
*should* back up in a few minutes. Yesterday, it ran for over 8 hours,
and never completed the backup. The logs (there is no error log) show:

2010-11-09 08:32:01 full backup started for directory /boot; updating
partial #693
2010-11-09 08:32:07 full backup started for directory /lib/modules;

2010-11-09 08:33:17 full backup started for directory /home; updating

2010-11-10 04:36:37 Aborting backup up after signal ALRM
2010-11-10 04:36:38 Got fatal error during xfer (aborted by signal=ALRM)

I checked and apparently it is getting an ALRM signal because it is
timing out. However, I do not understand why it is taking 20 hours to
back up this small amount of data. My $Conf{ClientTimeout} = 72000;
and the data that is being backed up is:

49M     /boot
142M    /lib/modules
148M    /home
5.8M    /etc
6.7M    /var/backups
93M     /var/cache/apt
139M    /var/lib/apt
25M     /var/lib/dpkg
12M     /root
15M     /var/log
49M     /usr/local

Also note that none of the other backups the machine is doing has a
problem, nor have I ever had a problem with this particular backup. I
do notice when this backup is running, the BackupPC_dump process runs
at 100%:

13305 backuppc  20   0 32056  25m 1168 R 99.0  1.3   6:07.84
BackupPC_dump

Anyone have advice, suggestions or even random abuse? :)

Thanks,
