[BackupPC-users] BackupPC 3.1.0 with Gentoo Linux (new ebuild)

I'd just like to share a bit mostly for those who use Gentoo - I figure
that most of you are still stuck with BackupPC version 2.1.2, since
that's the latest version in the portage repository.

Some time ago I decided to write fresh ebuilds for the 3.1 series and
hopefully they will soon also reach portage (the bug is pending in
Gentoo's bugzilla). You can follow the progress here:

All the required files and patches are uploaded, so you can check it out
and upgrade to 3.1.0 immediately. You should follow the Gentoo docs on
how to create your local portage overlay for installing these files.

If you want an easier method, you can just mail me and I can give you a
link to my own overlay which you can just download using subversion.
