Thanks for your help.
It almost worked. It came up with this error
Executing ArchivePreUserCmd: /bin/sh -c 'rm /archives/*'
/archives/*": 1: Syntax error: Unterminated quoted string
Archive failed: ArchivePreUserCmd returned error status 512
I tried the exact same command in a shell and it worked fine.

Try /bin/sh -c 'rm /archives/*'
The shell does the expansion of '*'.
