really, dont use root logins at all, even with a certificate. just use sudo and make an non-privileged user like 'backuppc' or something crazy like that able to sudo a specific command without a password.

I use SSH keys exclusively (PasswordAuthentication no), but I didn't
know you could distinguish between root and other users like this.
Guess I should spend even more time reading man pages. :o)
