There should be a warning in the XferLog about files which disappeared
during the transfer.

Also, the extra step would require a lot of computation (building the
file list is pretty expensive if you're backing up several hundreds of
thousands of files). After all, the extra file list should not be
neccessary because BackupPC shouldn't miss a file in the first place.
:-| And, BTW, building a file list is only possible for rsync transfers.

Where did it miss any files? What transport method are you using? When
did files get missed?
