Thanks for all the tips and suggestions. In Firefox, you can clear the
login (for all sites) by selecting "Tools > Clear Private Data". In IE I
could only find the login information cleared by closing the browser.

I've created a Tip & Trick on the wiki.

http://backuppc.wiki.sourceforge.net/Tips+and+Tricks

You will find it at the bottom.
# How to become another user (ie How do I logout from BackupPC)

I also created one for moving data from my previous question when I had
problems. Please correct them if you feel I have missed something or
wasn't clear on my descriptions.

Regards
Peter

As someone else mentioned, it can be done by temporarily rejecting the
authentication for the same realm. I'm pretty sure I've done this with
perl scripts in the past, I just don't seem to recall all the details
since it was so long ago. I'm pretty sure you can send/fake the auth
denied error the web server would normally send.
