First off, play with the columnspec parameter in amanda.conf to make the 
emails actually readable.  Please.

I cleaned up your report a bit.  Note that sda5 is the majority of your 
space, but has the slowest dump rate -- very slow, in fact.  Look into 
that.  SCSI bus contention?  Bad drive?  Anything in the system logs?  How 
fast can you 'tar c > /dev/null' that drive?
