...There
currently several files in my RECPOOL that are there from the
reclamation, are they automatically removed once the task is successful?
YES.
If it is not successful and I need to restart the reclamation process
can I delete them so I have more space?
NO! that will delete them permanently. If you want to force them out,
update the RECPOOL to highmig=0, lowmig=0; or use the MIGRATE command to
migrate RECPOOL data back to the original pool.
Several of my tapes are in the
pending state, what will happen when I restart reclamation.
"Pending" has nothing to do with reclamation. Your tape stgpool has a
property called REUSEDELAY. If that is set to 3, then the tapes will
stay in pending status for 3 days, then go back to SCRATCH status. You
can't use them while they are still pending.
