A few things to check into:
        The Router Fault Isolation (RFI) feature of NetView.  I
        believe this has the functionality you seek. 

        Node-interface correlation in a NetView rules set.  A sample
        of such a ruleset is provided with NetView.  Check out the
        user's guide for more information on filtering and correlating
        events.   You're interested in correlating interface down
        events to a node down.
