Alan, We have much the same situation. To resolve this issue we installed the Magnum Coordinator. A really nice product that does a very good job of determining and alerting on Root Cause of any outage as well as providing a list of affected devices / ip addresses. I feel that it was very well worth the cost of the system in the functionality provided. And in addition, what is most important to us is service and support. Magnum has been exceptional in that area. Best Regards, Mike

I need to monitor all theinterfaces on these routers and provide intelligent notification of events.Primarily I use popup notifications configured in Event configuration fortrapd. I know I can also use rulesets. Here is an example. I have a router with a loopback, ethernet, 2 WAN links.I need to provide notification to my operators when the site goes down. Itis easy to determine when the site is down via a unreachable or router downevent. I can also alert when a single interface goes down via an interfaceup/down event. The problem is that when a router is completely down I get anotification for the entire router being down as well as a notification foreach interface. What tools or products exists to provide some intelligenceto the traps stream to give my operators more concise alerts.ThanksAlan E.
